Catchin Up and Earth Day

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

I haven't been able to find the time to download and get through all my pics lately, but I finally got through them and I didn't want to just pass them by. So going back to the beginning of the month was our April Birthday Celebration!! Kristen and I had a cake off...

Clearly Kristen won! She showed Martha where the Bird Nest Cake is at, AMAZING!

Happy Birthday!

Not but a week later came Easter. A yummy dinner, more yummy treats and the Cutest little girl! She was confused because the Easter Bunny left better gifts at her Nana and Papa's then her own house!

It didn't take long for her to fall in LOVE with her pink car and no day is now complete without a little ride around the block.

And last but not least brings us to today, Earth Day. There was no better way then to celebrate by walking through the tulip gardens at Thanksgiving Point. It was BEAUTIFUL and the weather was incredible. Sunshine, we have really missed you thanks for coming back!

Pleased To Present. . . . .

About a year and a half ago we were challenged in Relief Society to memorize "The Living Christ".
I immediately dismissed the idea thinking that I am too old, it is too hard, I just could never do it. I think that I read the first paragraph a few times and said forget it. Then in November I went to our Stake Women's Conference where they talked about "The Living Christ". I felt really motivated and inspired that this was something I should do; needed to do. So on January 1st I began working on it. Somewhere along the way I decided to set a goal and have it memorized by Easter. Well I want you to know that I have achieved my goal. But to me it is so much more then achieving just the goal. It truly was the journey. I found that I had to think about my Savior everyday. If I didn't I would lose focus. I had to think about His life, His mission, and all that He had done for me. I realized that He truly gave His life to atone for the sins of ALL mankind. That we are ALL sons and daughters of God. I want you to know that I have a testimony that Jesus is the Living Christ, He is the immortal Son of God. He truly is the light and the life and the hope of the world. I love Easter time, I love all the fun Easter crafts but more then anything I love and am grateful for all that my Savior had done for me. I love each of you and wish each of you a Christ centered Easter. Love, Mom

Sneak Peek....Easter!

Here is a sneak peek of the festivities tomorrow. Even though the weather isn't cooperating, the inside of our house is sure feeling like Easter.

Watch this and this amazing video to get in the Easter spirit. They are very short, put out by the Church, and great!

See you tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Nanners!

The Dancers

Thursday, March 26, 2009

I titled this "The Dancers" only because the one about Kris was "The Artist". It seems like today was a very cultural day for the family. A few weeks ago Chan and I got roped into participating in our ward roadshow that each ward performs for the stake. We were told that we would be a dancing couple and all we would need to do is a little swing dancing. Well we had no idea what we were signing up for, next thing we knew we were attending dance practices learning flips, turns, and cartwheels. This will come as a shock to you all being as the last time I danced was probably when I was in the first grade, but I swear it's true. Well tonight was the big performance and I have to say it went pretty well. Unfortunately we didn't get a recording of it, but we snapped a quick picture so you could see our great costumes made by the young women. I don't know if we will be signing up for professional dance classes, but in the end we did have a pretty good time learning some dance moves.

The Artist.

Last year Kristen said that she would be taking an oil painting class, how ambitious. So to oil painting class she went and one day she came home with a masterpiece, a beautiful tulip. I was so impressed. Well, today her beautiful tulip was on display at the art show and she couldn't make it down from school, but Little K and I were able to go and it looked great! A man was offering $500 for it, but I stepped in and told him it wasn't for sale...I hope you don't care.

Midway

Monday, March 23, 2009

We got to stay up in Midway for part of the week last week, it was SO much fun! I think I want to move there, but then I don't think I will appreciate it as much...hmmm, I guess I will keep thinking about it. The funnest part of the week was taking Little K swimming! She LOVED it! She loved having everyone around her and just splish splashing in the water.

We can't wait to go again!

Little K has started pointing at everything, it is SO cute. Today I was reading her a book and she was pointing to all the things that she liked on the page, I loved it.
Hmmmm...what could she be pointing to in this picture.

Oh, yes, Geese or Duckies as we call them. She has a huge love for Ducks and when she sees them says "Du Du Du." It is the CUTEST! How nice that they had a duck pond for us to visit. I think she would have stayed all day if she could have. We would put a little piece of bread in her hand and she would throw it to them. She loved it!
