okayyyy, my internet should be good now. cross your lucky little fingers! so field trip, lets see. yesterday we woke up really early, i mean like 6 o'clock early. we ate breakfast and packed lunches in brown paper sacks, really like little kids. we had room checks and left on a big coach (bus) that reminded me severely of trek. we left right as the sun was rising and drove for about two hours. our first stop was canterbury cathedral. heres a little history rundown for you: so back in the day there was this guy named thomas becket. he was friend with the king, but they got in a fight over whether the church and state should have equal power. they were still friends, just a little tiffed. then one day under his breath the king said something like, thomas is so annoying wont someone just get rid of him. there were 4 knights standing by that thought that this would be their moment to impress the king. they rode the canterbury cathedral and killed thomas becket in his own church. the people were so mad that thomas became known as a martyr, was knighted, and canterbury became a major pilgrimage site.
so that is where we went first. we spent some time kickin it there then at noon we got back on the bus. we drove through the BEAUTIFUL countryside to our next destination. seriously though, like green rolling hills, sheep in the fields, blue skies. it was amazing.
our next stop was a little town named rye. there really is not anything special about rye, its just a really cute little town. its really small and they have cobblestone pathways and the works.
it was amazing. we only spent an hour there before we headed off to beachy head. i guess the coast of england is surrounded by white chalk cliffs, and beachy head is the tallest of them. it was so much fun. we just hung out there for a little bit and walked up and down the coast.
it was our first glimpse of the english channel which was really exciting too. so after that we got back on the bus and headed home. it was a long drive home and we were all really ready to get off the bus. but it was so much fun, so nice to get out of the city and see the countryside. but anyway, enough about me, someone has a special birthday tomorrow!! i cant believe it dad, you look like you did when you turned 30. hope you guys have fun celebrating without me. i will definitely be missing you guys. lindsey i want an update when you get home from your trip, and branchan its about time you made your debut on this thing! oh, and chandler there is a maserati on our street. whats the 411 on that car? cool, not cool? we think its cool. love you guys, write back soon everyone.

Isn't the English countryside beautiful! I love the cobblestone streets. Love the wellie's! It looks like it was a really fun day trip. I don't think you can ever get sick of going to castles and cathedrals. Make sure you check out the cemeteries next to the old churches they are really cool. Looks like a great trip. Love Mom
