SNOW DAY!! (well, almost)

Thursday, February 14, 2008

Today was the closest I have ever been to an actuall snow day. Lindsey came in my room this morning and rudley awoke me to tell me that school had been delayed two hours. So it started at ten and not eight. I knew it had been snowing but the forecast only said 1-3 inches overnight so I had no idea what was going on. Apperently the storm circled around and went over the lake again or something and dropped like a foot at our house. The pile in the picture is measured up to SEVEN FEET its pretty much huge. Sorry the picture sucks so bad it was on my phone and I moved it right when it took.

Good thing I was not in provo this night or would have either slept in my car or at a hotel. It took people 5 hours to get from American Fork to Sandy. CRAZY!!

I was thinking this week about this weird storm and how people were stuck in their cars and search and rescue had to come and get a lot of the people. Try to work on your backpack that you can keep in your car with food, water and first aid. I have been working on mine since Christmas, my car backpack is from Emergency Essentials with food rations and water packets. I have added a few more waterbottles and a good first aid kit with emergency blanket etc. I saw these similar backpacks today at Macy's. I am going to work on adding some snacks in mine, like granola bars. This could be so important if this happens again. If you have ques. about what to put in yours feel free to ask me or Mom, she has some good resources. Let's all try to make a goal to have one in our car by April.
